Radius Mapping Tool

Free Radius Mapping Tool: Draw, Print, Save, and Calculate Distance Circles on Maps

Improved Radius Around Points Map with Easy Print
Map Info:

Click on the map to a radius around a point. You can set the radius in the chosen units, clear all circles, save them, and print the map.

How to Use the Free Radius Mapping Tool

This free radius mapping tool allows you to create and visualize circles of specific radii on a map, helping you calculate distance areas from a point. Simply click on a location, and the tool will draw a circle around that point, showing the radius. You can adjust the radius in various units such as meters, kilometers, miles, and feet.

Use this radius map tool to:

  • Draw a radius around any point on the map.
  • Calculate distance areas for miles, kilometers, or other units from a central location.
  • Show multiple radii on a single map for better distance visualization.
  • Save your radius maps as GeoJSON files for future reference or sharing.

With this tool, you can:

  • Map a radius around a point.
  • Show mileage or distance circles on maps.
  • Visualize distance areas "as the crow flies" from your current location.
  • Use the radius calculator to determine precise distances on maps.
  • Switch between different base maps (e.g., satellite, street view) for better context.
  • Draw multiple circles around different points and measure areas with ease.

Perfect for those who need to map radius areas for distance calculations, service coverage, or simply exploring the area around you. Create a radius around a point and print your map or save it as a file to use later. Whether you need a 50-mile radius, a 5-mile radius, or a 100-mile radius from a location, this tool has you covered!

Here’s a detailed description of how to use each of the functions available on the webpage:

How to Use Each Function on this Free Radius Map Tool

Set Radius:

What it does: This feature allows you to specify the radius of the circle that will be drawn around the point you click on the map.

How to use: Enter a value in the "Set Radius" input box. Choose the desired unit of measurement from the dropdown (meters, kilometers, miles, feet). Once you click on the map, a circle with the specified radius will be drawn around the point.

Select Unit of Measurement:

What it does: Allows you to choose how the radius distance is measured, whether in meters, kilometres, miles, or feet.

How to use:

  1. Select the unit from the dropdown.
  2. The tool will automatically adjust the radius of the circle based on your chosen unit.
  3. The radius label displayed on the circle will also update accordingly.

Click on the Map to Draw a Radius:

What it does: Clicking on the map will create a circle around the clicked point with the radius you have specified.

How to use:

  1. After setting your radius, click anywhere on the map.
  2. A circle will appear centered on the clicked point, with the radius you set.
  3. The circle is labeled with the radius in the unit of measurement you selected.

Clear All Circles:

What it does: Removes all the drawn circles from the map, clearing any radius you have drawn.

How to use:

  1. Click the "Clear All Circles" button.
  2. All circles and the corresponding points you clicked on will be removed from the map.
  3. This action allows you to reset the map and start fresh.

Save Circles:

What it does: Saves all the drawn circles and the points where you clicked as a GeoJSON file. This file can be used for mapping or data analysis in other GIS software.

How to use:

  1. After drawing your circles, click the "Save Circles" button.
  2. A .geojson file will be downloaded, containing the coordinates of the points you clicked and the radius circles as polygons.
  3. You can use this file to share or analyze the data further.

Switch Between Different Base Maps:

What it does: Lets you switch between different base map views (such as Street Map, Satellite View, or World Street Map) for better context depending on your needs.

How to use:

  1. Open the layer control in the upper right corner of the map.
  2. Select a base map from the list (e.g., Street Map, Satellite).
  3. The map will update to reflect the new view while keeping your radius circles intact.

Print Map:

What it does: Allows you to print the current view of your map, including the radius circles, using a printable .png in various sizes like A4 Landscape and A4 Portrait.

How to use:

  1. Click the "Print Map" button.
  2. The map will be saved as a .png in the specified format.
  3. You can then save or print the .png for offline use or sharing.
