North Dakota Elevation Overview
North Dakota’s terrain is almost entirely Great Plains, with White Butte at 3,506 ft in the southwestern Badlands as the high point. The Badlands along the Little Missouri River provide the state’s most dramatic scenery. The Red River Valley in the east – a former glacial lake bed – is one of the flattest regions in North America.
