Nevada Elevation Overview
Nevada is dominated by the Basin and Range province – dozens of north-south mountain ranges separated by flat desert valleys. Wheeler Peak in the Snake Range reaches 13,147 ft and harbors the only glacier in the Great Basin. Nevada has more individual mountain ranges per square mile than any other state in the lower 48.
