Louisiana Elevation Overview
Louisiana is one of the flattest, lowest states in the country. Much of New Orleans and the surrounding coast lies below sea level, with the state’s lowest point at -8 ft. Driskill Mountain in the northern uplands reaches only 535 ft. The Mississippi River Delta and vast coastal marshes define the southern third of the state.
