Job Description
SVD Solutions is seeking a Sr. Network Engineer with experience in Network Devices and Network Architecture. Training and exposure with Geospatial technologies will be available. Candidate will maintain a small, existing network including a SOHO Cisco router/firewall device, a managed switch, and be able to direct on-site personnel on other network-related tasks in order to ensure network remains operational. Network includes several cellular devices used to connect endpoints to the network over the Internet. Must support any relevant audits/accreditation work via written response to applicable network-centric security controls. The successful candidate will work within a team that consists of a server-focused Sr. Systems Engineer, a Sr. Security Engineer, and a Sr. Technical Lead on a project involving a third party COTS provider that maintains the software running within the environment. Must have ability to understand and create simple to moderate complexity network diagrams.
This position is available as a part-time position where no more than 20 hours per week will be required. A single pre-scheduled 1-hour meeting is required during business hours per week, the remainder can be worked after hours/weekends if desired if working during regular business hours is not practical for the applicant. Having additional employment is not an issue for this position.
The selected individual must have a current and active US Top Secret clearance prior to accepting a job offer to be eligible for consideration. There is no travel required for this position.

Requirements:

Current and Active Top Secret Clearance
Upon hire, must be willing to take and successfully pass a CI polygraph test
8+ years of experience, or an equivalent mix of formal education and experience
Knowledge of Network equipment required
Knowledge of network diagrams required
Experience responding to network-based security audits preferred
Must understand interaction between servers and network equipment as well as remote endpoint connectivity

Desired Experience:

Candidates with any of the following experience will be provided priority consideration
Cloud-based Security Engineering experience a plus
Any Computer Networking as related to geospatial technologies is considered a strong plus
Any experience with Blockchain/Cryptocurrency considered a strong plus

Qualifications
Active TS Clearance prior to application required
Must be willing to take and pass a CI polygraph test
Ability to work well with others in a collaborative manner and be a self-starter Team player capable of working in a results oriented environment Strong interpersonal, team building, active listening, and attention to detail are a must Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal with strong presentation skills
