Department Overview VaaS, a video analysis as a service company, is a leading global provider of data and image analytics for vehicle location. The companys image capture and analysis platform, which includes fixed and mobile license plate reader cameras driven by machine learning and artificial intelligence, provides vehicle location data to public safety and commercial customers. Acquired in January 2019, this new product offering will expand the Motorola Solutions command center software portfolio with the largest shareable database of vehicle location information that can help shorten response times and improve the speed and accuracy of investigations.
Job Description
With over 15 billion rows of license plate and geospatial data, Digital Recognition Network httpsdrndata.com is a fastgrowing License Plate Recognition LPR data company that is looking for a talented software engineer to help build and maintain web applications that showcase our data and provide value for our commercial customers. You39;ll be working with a strong team of driven developers and creative product team to maintain our existing web applications and APIs as well as building out products for new markets.

PHP We love PHP. We know it has a bad reputation due to a long history of ugliness and trust us when we say we have experienced it firsthand. However, it has matured greatly over the past few years and it has allowed us to rapidly prototype, develop, and deploy some amazing applications. We love Laravel and composer, and we run PHP 8 in production.

Remote Lets dispel with the myth that remote developers can kick their feet back and play video games. If youve spent any time working remotely, you know the challenges and determination it takes to make it work. We work hard from 8 to 5 and want a developer that will do the same without needless distractions.

Git We do everything in git and have some great deployment workflows built around it.

Security We adhere to the OWASP Top 10 standard and offer regular training on how to secure your code against SQL injection, XSS, and CSRF.

Responsibilities will include

Maintain existing applications by finding and fixing bugs that occur

Rapidly build and evolve major features and applications in collaboration with product management

Research and experiment with key technologies, architectures, and standards

Attend daily standup meetings, collaborate with peers, prioritize features, and work with a sense of urgency to deliver value to customers

Assist in code reviews and pull request reviews conducted at various points in the software life cycle

Preferred qualifications

443; years of related experience

Experience working with a modern agile development process

Strong skills with PHP743;, HTML5, CSS3, and modern Javascript ideally ES6

Experience designing and integrating RESTful JSON APIs

Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

Strong analytical and critical thinking skills

Independent, proactive, and hardworking

Have a growth mindset with the ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment and handle multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

Demonstrate an ability to set objectives and goals and organize work appropriately to meet and exceed goals.

Comfortable collaborating and communicating with people at varying levels, junior to executive , both internally and externally

Able to receive feedback well and incorporate it into future wor k

This position is a remote position and candidates can be located anywhere in the US.

OR 443; years of Software Engineering experience.
