Become a Senior GIS Specialist at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, youll be part of the Geomatics group within our Transmission & Distribution Organizational Unit (OU). The person will identify, document, and resolve issues related to the management of geospatial data in SCEs Geographic Information System (cGIS). The position will perform in-depth analysis on geospatial asset data, provide technical direction to team members, and support accurate and efficient GIS data management. This person will also provide consulting, lead initiatives and projects and assist in the implementation of processes. A day in the life – Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!
Coordinate across the team to ensure work is being performed in compliance with SCE standards.
Provide technical guidance and training to Specialist technicians.
Identify, evaluate, and recommend enhancements to automate or improve operational efficiency.
Provide support and generate reports from business applications (SAP) such as queries, uploading files, and reconciling data and provide updates to stakeholders.
Support the management, development, and implementation of tools.
Perform routine analysis and develop recommendations which address customer and/or company issues that require technical knowledge to resolve.
Performs other responsibilities and duties as assigned.
Qualifications
The essentials
Five or more years of experience performing GIS processes such as Geo-database design and management and spatial analysis.
Experience working with Mapping Applications such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map3D, ESRI Viewers, cGIS or ArcGIS when creating and referencing geospatial and attribute data.
The preferred
Experience conducting research and analysis across multiple sources to ensure quality control of work.
Experience converting data from one format to another, generating ad hoc reports from business applications/databases.
Specialized GIS education or GIS certification.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications.
Experience with SAP, Design Manager, eDMRM or DM Vault program knowledge.
You should know
This positions work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
