The GVS system was first deployed in 2006 and became a Program of Record in 2008. The programs mission is to provide visualization services that facilitate access to GEOINT data and products in an online, on-demand environment to agencies across the Federal Government. The GVS suite of services are provided to the community in various formats to allow integration across a wide variety of client technologies and applications. GVS also provides applications that can be used to visualize GEOINT as well as additional utilities & technologies that aid in visualization.

The GVS program is seeking a Release Train Engineer to become a member of their team. Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to, facilitation of the release train processes, escalation of impediments, risk management, assuring value delivery, driving continuous improvement, coaching teammates on agile processes and best practices, and collecting, tracking and reporting Release Train status and metrics. Overall, the ultimate responsibility of this role is to drive release train execution. The GVS RTE facilitates program events such as Program Increment (PI) Planning and Scrum of Scrums Meetings. They coach and create an environment of mutual influence, trust, and transparency.

As a Release Train Engineer, you will support multiple teams across the GVS program in an Agile team environment. You will interface with each of our Development scrum teams, as well as our Operations, System Deployment, Geospatial Content, Test, Accreditation and Authorization (Cybersecurity), and Systems Engineering teams, and collaborate cross-functionally with government personnel, customer partners, subcontractors, local engineers, and geographically dispersed teammates.

A minimum Secret Clearance required for this role.

Basic Qualifications:
The following basic qualifications outline the minimum requirements for a candidate to be considered for a position

Active Secret clearance
Proven Software/Infrastructure/Systems Engineering skills to include strategic planning; risk assessment; problem identification/resolution; process adherence; and customer interaction around System Modernization/Application Development/Delivery.
Proficient in Agile methodology and coaching; software & infrastructure/cloud development techniques; service-oriented environments/architectures; and better development practices
Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) Release Train Engineer certification, or willingness to complete and obtain
4+ years as a Scrummaster using SAFe processes
Demonstrated experience collecting Agile metrics and leveraging them to track status and identify areas for improvement
Demonstrated experience coaching team members on agile best practices
Demonstrated experience holding retrospectives and implementing process improvements
Experience participating and leading teams through Program Increment Planning Events

Desired Skills:
The following desired skills are not a requirement to perform the job, but prior experience with any of the following should be noted if applicable as they would help a candidate to come up to speed in the role more quickly.
– GEOINT community background – familiarity with the domain/products/customer set

Previous Product Owner, Scrum Master or Release Train Engineer experience working on complex and highly integrated hardware/software development projects in an Agile Scrum environment
Experience with GVS services such as Map of the World
DevSecOps practitioner certification
Experience leading teams and people
An active TS/SCI clearance, with a final TS is desired, but not a requirement to start.
