POSITION TITLE: Level II Designer, OSP
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is seeking a Level II Designer, OSP to provide utility fiber route designs within the OSP Engineering team. This position will work closely with the engineering and construction team to provide quality mid-level designs of aerial and underground fiber installs. The ideal candidate will be safety focused, customer and quality centric, with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Uses GIS/3GIS and ARAMIS to perform Mid- level fiber/coax design aerial, underground, and FTTx route maps and executes tasks such as route analysis
Designate the design, sizing, and placement of mainlines, laterals, hubs, splices, splitter cabinets, and terminals
Mid level of fiber allocation design for splicing matrix
Verify existing duct utilizing rod and roping
Ability to perform field surveys of outside plant aerial and underground network facilities; develop running line, splice sheets, loss budgets and other design elements.
Coordinate with internal Engineering teams and External Customers to determine component selection, routing, and network architecture guidelines in order to produce detailed designs
Creates and maintains documentation records of design deliverables
Create Bill of Materials for project management
Ability to performs field walk outs for construction move projects, customer maintenance programs, customer service connection projects, etc.
Participates in meetings with local municipalities to plan utility construction projects
Ability to collect and operate Geospatial tools to capture all field data needed (LiDAR)
Perform quality control reviews for self and team on completed designs in terms of completeness, accuracy and compliance with standards
Collaborate with the construction project managers and / or field personnel to ensure quality and timely delivery of design and engineering services
Performs other duties as assigned by leadership

Mid-Level knowledge of Cable Design such as CTBH, 5G, EPON, etc. required
Mid-level knowledge of construction drawings and documents

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position operates within a temperature-controlled office environment
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, projectors, copy/fax, and smartphones

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

1-3 Years OSP Design experience in telecommunications required
Bachelors Degree in engineering preferred but not required
High School Diploma or equivalent required
