Position Overview:
The IT GIS Sr. position will report to the Programs and Applications IT Manager for Public Safety IT. The IT GIS Sr. is responsible for performing business process analysis for GIS and designing, developing, testing, and documenting for our Public Safety IT supported geospatial applications. They are responsible for developing and creating GIS policies and procedures for Public Safety IT GIS. The IT GIS Sr. serves as a working lead for projects related to GIS technology and data programs. They maintain all GIS mapping needs for Public Safety and 9-1-1 including modifying and correcting database values as needed, creating and maintaining GIS data connections to commercial off the shelf software solutions, and troubleshooting issues with users while working with technical resources for issues resolution. This position supports numerous, critical software applications for our agencies GIS needs and will require you to be on-call for supporting this critical software. The ideal candidate is forward-thinking, analytical, security minded, methodical, and a good communicator with strong problem-solving skills. The demand to deliver consistent GIS performance standards is critical to the position and Public Safety IT. This position is primarily remote, however will require onsite presence as operational needs require.

Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Experience:
Experience and strong working knowledge of Esri ArchGIS software, which includes ArcMap, ArcPro, ArcGIS online and ArcGIS Server
Experience with 9-1-1 addressing standards, and maintaining MSAG
Experience creating and maintaining highly accurate route-able networks for Public Safety Computer Aided Dispatch Systems, or Public Safety enterprise critical systems
Ability to travel to more than one work location.
Duties, Functions and Responsibilities

Designs, implements, and/or performs data management activities such as modifying elements and assigning privileges.
Performs programming activities such as design, development, testing, debugging, documentation, and modification of geospatial applications.
Analyzes data from various sources to produce data sets, cartographic layouts, and reports in accordance with specifications and standards.
Researches and interprets source records and documents.
Performs business process analysis, develops alternatives, and makes recommendations.
Responds to requests for information from internal and external customers.
Assists with the creation, publication, implementation, and improvement of IT policies, governance, standards, and security.
Installs new software releases and/or upgrades including researching, testing, and implementing new geospatial technology.
Communicates and interfaces with members of the IT, vendor, and user communities.

Ability to implement geospatial technology projects.
Ability to modify geospatial applications and databases using scripting programming languages and automation tools.
Ability to read and interpret surveys, legal descriptions, cartography, engineering documents, construction plans, and aerial and orthophotography.
Ability to read and interpret applicable laws and regulations.
Ability to analyze automation needs and makes recommendations for data, geospatial software, and/or hardware solutions.
Ability to produce maps and other representations of geospatial data using geospatial software.
Ability to accurately identify/determine customer needs and take appropriate actions and/or steps to address identified needs.
