Maxar is looking for an Image Scientist at one of our on-site customer locations in Springfield, VA. This exciting position involves support to the government in for their missions to build, optimize, and deliver image products in a collaborative environment by applying image science and analysis to solve problems.
Responsibilities:
You will be a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the area of Electro-Optical (EO) Engineering
Provide analysis and collaborate with other analysts and image scientists and product quality teams to advise on product performance; analyze production data and metrics
Perform end-to-end system monitoring and troubleshooting from system collection to processing when issues arise; assess performance and production data using technical performance measures; report information clearly to the government and the user community
Research and analyze technical data, concepts, and effectiveness of the operational and product environment
Monitor production systems to ensure successful customers mission by providing accurate and relevant products in a timely manner and to assist the team in optimizing collection and exploitation of imagery data
Provide scientific analysis support to full spectrum GEOINT (FSG) data and collaborate with other imagery and geospatial analysts and provide assessments of current intelligence issues
Be proactive in making recommendations for efficiency improvements
Maintain and improve operational courses as well as teach and develop additional curriculum for specific tasks
Be available to flex a standard work schedule as needed to support anomaly mitigation and key program milestones
Be flexible and assist in other duties as needed by the customer and mission
Minimum Requirements:
Must have a current/active TS/SCI and be willing and able to obtain a CI poly
Requires 4-8 years of relevant experience with a Bachelors Degree
Experience with EO image science/phenomenology; anomalous signatures and how to mitigate
Experience with EO sensors to include Hyperspectral Imagery
Knowledge of Advanced Geospatial Intelligence Methodologies
Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to meet time critical needs/demands with close attention to detail
Desired skills:
Demonstrated understanding of user needs and operational products and quality
Demonstrated capability and success working in a customer environment with a multi-contractor, geographically diverse team
Formal training/previous work experiences in product quality techniques and assessment in relation to GEOINT products, Geographical Information Systems (GIS), or remote sensing

Our salary ranges are market-driven and set to allow for flexibility. Individual pay will be competitive based on a candidates unique set of knowledge, skills, and geographic diversity, with earnings potential commensurate with experience. The range for this position is:
$103,000.00 – $171,000.00 annually.
