Job Description
Job Summary
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Specialist II for employment in the Omaha, NE office. The appropriately qualified applicant will use Esris ArcGIS suite of products on a wide variety of environmental and engineering projects.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Independently execute and deliver GIS projects of varying scopes and complexity.
Create, organize, and concisely map GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes.
Review data for currency, accuracy, quality, and completeness.
Assist field teams with mapping preparation, field data collection/data extraction and other related activities.
Develop web and mobile GPS/GIS solutions and applications.
Create, edit, and maintain geospatial databases and metadata to support reports and other project deliverables.
Prepare and maintain internal and external project documentation, including quality control documentation.
Work cooperatively with Project Managers, GIS Specialists, and other technical staff on simultaneous project assignments.
Qualifications
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
BA/BS + 2 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/ or education.
U.S. Citizenship required.
Valid US Drivers License.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelors degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field.
Strong communications skills and ability to independently manage workload schedules.
1+ years of GIS or other relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Experience with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, and/or other relevant ArcGIS software and an understanding of the ESRI suite of products.
Technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization and cartographic design.
AutoCAD experience.
The position may require fieldwork, and the candidate must be able to travel (including overnight).
