In this job, youll be part of the Geospatial Analysis group within our Transmission & Distribution Business Unit. This person will identify, document, and resolve issues related to the management of geospatial data in SCEs comprehensive Geographic Information System (cGIS). The position will perform in-depth analysis on geospatial asset data, provide technical direction to team members, and support accurate and efficient data management for cGIS. This position will also provide consulting, lead initiatives, projects and make process recommendations. A day in the life – Get ready to think big, work smart and shine bright!

Support the management, development, and implementation of applications and tools supporting the cGIS Data Remediation team.
Collaborate with SMEs across Geomatics teams to implement procedures and guidelines for cGIS Asset Maintenance activities.
Perform Project Management tasks such as Scope of Work, Scheduling, Maintenance, Quality Control, Tracking and Reporting.
Perform a wide variety of data remediation tasks such as: data capturing, both geospatial and attribute based, data validations and comparisons across multiple databases.
Interact with peers, management and other internal groups to ensure timely and accurate information is communicated to respective groups to ensure data integrity.
Lead or participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on departmental/business unit initiatives and provide functional direction to GIS technicians on the efforts.
Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications
The essentials

Three or more years of experience Creating and/or Analyzing GIS Drawings, Maps or Mapping Materials.
Experience using one or more of the following applications: Autodesk, AutoCAD, AutoCAD Map3D (cGIS), Arc Desktop (GIS), ArcMap (GIS), ArcPro (GIS), ArcGIS Online (AGOL).

The preferred

Bachelors degree in Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science with an emphasis in GIS, or related field.
Specialized CAD or GIS certification.
Experience with AutoDesk Map 3D 2016 (cGIS), ESRI ArcGIS 10.0, Oracle Spatial or other GIS software.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge and or experience with electrical theory.
Two or more years of experience with Microsoft Excel performing advanced functions such as VLOOKUPs, pivot tables, filtering/sorting, charts and graphing.
Experience in Geodatabase Design, cartographic standards, and usage of peripherals such as plotters, digitizers, and scanners.

You should know

This positions work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days. Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to reside in the state of California. Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage.
