Position Summary

Our team is looking for a GIS Analyst to support clients on a variety of projects that include all facets of debris removal operations, and some hazard mitigation projects. The ideal candidate will utilize GIS techniques to highlight an understanding of data visualized for a given geographic location. While supporting debris removal projects, the GIS Analyst will utilize the GIS System to divide roads into Right of Way Segments in support of managing hazard tree assessments of the right of way. Each Segment will include one quarter centerline mile, with some variability. The Analyst will perform field work to conduct analysis of GIS data and products, maintains, and manages GIS products and resources.

Compensation: The hourly rate for this position is approximately $47.00 pr/hr depending on education, qualifications, experience and work location.

Essential Job Functions

Performs technical quality review of geospatial information to determine completeness, and accuracy, relative to specified standards.
Responsible for taking all local operational, client agency, mapping, and infrastructure information, and developing a cohesive database that can be used to assess, coordinate, and summarize tree removal activities that have taken place.
Will perform mapping and tracking inspection scheduling for asbestos sites using ARC GIS
An ESRI-compatible database shall be developed to provide a way to access information that will assist others them in performing their duties to include daily activity logs, site tree assessments, and activity closure reports for designated properties.
Investigate and highlight discrepancies between various datasets, inclusive of GIS errors and APN discrepancies to allow reconciliation of datasets. An APN is unique number assigned to each parcel of land by the county tax assessor.
Prioritize and simultaneously handle multiple work tasks in a dynamic work environment.
Work as a member of a larger team supporting response operation activities, comprised of various stakeholders within Witt OBriens, governmental agencies, partnering firms and clients.

Minimum Job Requirements

A Bachelors degree in geographic information science, geography, computer science, surveying, or urban planning.
A minimum of five (3) years experience in GIS and other database management systems to include ESRI Product/Application Suite: ArcGIS Desktop and Extensions.
Must have familiarity with Smartsheet
Capable of coordinating large data sets and offering detailed explanations related to findings.
Have effective administrative and organizational abilities.
Strong presentation and communication skills, both oral and written.
Proficient in MS Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook Email, Microsoft TEAMS and calendar functions.
Experience working with Smartsheet is a plus

Work Schedule

Must be available to work as needed 7 days a week, Sunday through Saturday from 9:00 6:00 PM CST
Must be available 40+hours a week
Urgent, disaster related needs may require extended hours or work on holidays or weekends.
