At RESPEC, a GIS consultant is a solid, independent contributor responsible for geospatial data management, analysis, and cartography. A GIS consultant should also be familiar with ArcGIS Online and/or ArcGIS Enterprise to develop Esri Web-Apps and deploy feature services. As a GIS consultant, you will operate within RESPECs Data & Technology Services business unit and support GIS needs on custom development projects. Most projects are performed using the Esri Suite of geospatial tools; however, our team also works with open-source tools and frameworks.
About You:

You are looking for a team to support your growth as a GIS analyst.
You are comfortable speaking directly with clients, gathering requirements, and leading demonstrations.
You are independently responsible for the entire lifecycle of GIS projects or tasks (including dataset design and development as well as analysis using vector and raster datasets) and are well-versed in leveraging the vast tools and data available to accomplish these tasks.

Qualifications:

Esri Suite including ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
Spatial analysis and knowledge with demonstrated experience in conducting complex vector and raster analysis
Understanding of open-source GIS tools and software to solve spatial problems

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in applying GIS skills to engineering subject matter
Experience in web development
Experience with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL/PostGIS, Oracle Database, and SQL Server)

Responsibilities:

Provide clear and concise status on scrum calls and as requested in other status reporting formats
Be polite and responsive to client requests
Write and review design documentation
Provide task estimates on assigned work
Possess strong collaboration skills
Learn new technologies and concepts quickly

Education, Experience, and Knowledge:

Bachelor of arts or bachelor of science degree in GIS, geography, or equivalent educational background and experience
A minimum of 3 years experience in GIS analysis and/or as a GIS analyst

Compensation: Salary depends on experience and expertise. Compensation includes a comprehensive fringe- benefits package that consists of medical, vision, dental, holidays, paid leave, 401(k) Plan, Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP), continuing education, and professional societies. RESPEC is a 100% employee-owned company and employees are eligible for participation in the ESOP after a qualifying period.
