Description
SAIC is currently looking to hire a GIS Analyst to support our DoD Sea Level Rise GIS Data Development team in California, MD.
Position will be hybrid-remote in California, MD and is open to local candidates in the area.
JOB DUTIES:
The candidate will research, acquire, and analyze a variety of geospatial data for Navy installation management and climate resiliency. They will use ArcGIS or other GIS and/or CAD software to process data and perform modeling tasks using elevation model, sea level rise, and flood inundation geospatial data. They must be able to create detailed reports, capture data research results in tabular format and generate geospatial metadata. The candidate must have strong oral and written communication skills, work well in a dispersed team environment, and demonstrate attention to detail when processing or performing quality control checks on geospatial data.
Qualifications
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelors and two (2) years or more experience; High School diploma and six (6) years of experience
At least 2 years of experience using ArcGIS is required, including practical experience with 3D Analyst and Spatial Analyst extensions.
Experience with elevation model formats, including DEMs, Lidar, and raster data formats.
Experience applying geospatial analysis and modeling to climate change, community resiliency, flood inundation or other environmental issues.

DESIRED SKILLS:

Experience modeling sea level rise and storm surge in the geospatial environment.
Strong experience cataloging information about geospatial data sources in tabular format.
Knowledge of the Spatial Data Standard for Facilities, Infrastructure and Environment data model.
Experience performing quality control checks on geospatial data.
Experience using and training others to use ArcGIS Pro software.
