This Opportunity
WSP is currently seeking an Environmental Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst to join our team in San Diego, CA. Ideal candidates will have a BS degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or equivalent and 3-5 years experience, or any equivalent education and experience. Also sought is experience with municipal, industrial, or construction stormwater and surface water quality program implementation. Good communications skills and a willingness to occasionally perform field work, are also sought in this position. We are looking for someone who is genuinely excited and enthusiastic about learning and pushing technical limits/ finding new solutions for our stormwater permit compliance related projects and clients. This position is anticipated to be a Mid-level position located in our San Diego, CA office.
Your Impact

Perform both geographic and non-geographic data manipulation, management and analysis, cartography, and develop/use automated GIS processes using a variety of software environments
Work on multiple projects simultaneously, with a commitment to keeping projects on time and within budget
Work in a production-oriented environment as part of a team
Revise existing GIS layers and create new layers following established standards and procedures
Correct geospatial location of features based on aerial photography or topography
Prepare technical documentation of project requirements, procedures, execution, and implementation plans
Create high quality maps, GIS analysis, and data for reports to support a variety of engineering and environmental projects including: watershed, stormwater outfall, and Best Management Practice (BMP) drainage delineations, stormwater infrastructure asset management, land use analysis, impervious surface area analysis, and Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) related compliance
Maintain metadata and best practices to support systems and data
Assist in the preparation of various analytical reports and monthly progress reports suitable for meetings
Assist with field work activities including stormwater permit compliance related facility inspections, field surveys, and water quality monitoring

Who You Are
Required Qualifications

BS degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Computer Science, or equivalent
1-3 years experience, or any equivalent education and experience is preferred
ESRI’s ArcGIS Desktop v10x (ArcMap, ArcCatalog)
ESRIs ArcGIS Spatial Analyst Extension
Microsoft Excel
Familiarity with other Microsoft Office software (Office, Word, PowerPoint)
Database development and management familiarity
Must possess good organizational and oral and written communication skills
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
Excellent analytical / problem-solving skills
Attention to details and familiarity with GIS related QA/QC and data analysis including topology
Presentation skills, including the ability to clearly communicate GIS technologies
Must pass drug test, background check, and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company’s driving (MVR) policy
Ability to work regular office hours, 8am 5pm with potential for occasional overtime and nighttime project work

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with ESRIs web and field applications including ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Collector, ArcGIS Survey 123
Experience with ArcGIS Pro
Familiarity with ArcGIS ModelBuilder
Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI
Basic familiarity with programming languages (Python / Visual Basic / C++)
Experience with implementing and managing ArcGIS for Desktop and ArcGIS for server in a multi-user SDE environment
Experience of processing LiDAR
Experience with CAD platforms and data exchange between CAD/GIS environments
