Overview:

This is a position that will offer an entry point into the geospatial industry along with the opportunity to enhance your skills for career advancement. This position requires experience working with geospatial data to facilitate learning standard NGA product activities! The Geospatial Technician will extract feature and/or terrain data from a variety of sources and conduct research to prepare the data for our clients.

Work Environment:

Axim Geospatial in St. Louis, MO
Travel up to 15%

Responsibilities:

Extract feature and/or terrain data from a variety of sources using third party and propriety software
Effectively identify and communicate work status to the Production Manager
Maintain project priorities
Qualifications:

Experience & Requirements:

Bachelors Degree in Geography/GIS, Science, Engineering or related field*
Knowledge of Software such as but not limited to ArcGIS and QGIS**
Exposure to relevant skills including some of the following: working in production teams, digital cartography, image processing, computer technology, geographical information systems, geospatial production techniques, and digital data formats**
Strong understanding of spatial relationships.
U.S. Citizenship required.

Additional experience and training can be substituted for education

Experience Preferred:

Previous geospatial data production (in particular, experience with large Government Agency Geospatial and Cartographic data, products, and services), especially the collection of feature and terrain data from satellite imagery and other sources, is a plus.
