What Youll do The GIS Manager (Developer) will support the GIS team and will work in close collaboration with various cross-departmental teams within Lightsource bp to (1) support day to day geospatial needs, (2) carry out management of data and portal content within the Enterprise GIS environment (3) develop geospatial solutions to improve workflows, automation, and to build tools/applications for various stakeholders within Lightsource bp. The GIS Manager (Developer) will primarily be working across our Americas region; however, the GIS Manager (Developer) will also work in close collaboration with our Europe and APAC GIS team to ensure best practices and a consistent approach. The ideal candidate will have experience using GIS in renewables or the energy sector, ability to work both independently and collaboratively and be passionate about being the change..

Duties and Responsibilities

Geospatial data management within the Enterprise GIS environment
Development of Extract-Transform-Load (ETL) processes to manage data flows
Development of automated processes and tools for the enterprise environment
Maintain and develop content within the Lightsource bp One Map portal (using Portal for ArcGIS), the organization and presentation of data, maps, applications, and dashboards
Engagement with stakeholders to identify opportunities to develop geospatial solutions to support the business
Work independently and with teams in the development and delivery of geospatial solutions
Provide technical expertise and guidance to others as required
Work with other Lightsource BP technical teams to develop integrated data solutions
Identify, develop, and implement best practice work processes
Actively communicate and promote the purpose and benefits of information and data management and data analytics
Mentor junior team members on proper data management and project documentation.

Who were looking for

Knowledge

Advanced GIS fundamental knowledge including GIS data management, coordinate reference systems and transformations, geospatial analysis and cartographic design.
Ability to manipulate and analyze geographical information to be presented in reports or presentation
Demonstrates a vast knowledge of cartography and database management.
Expertise in the use ArcGIS Portal ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE, Portal for ArcGIS, FME
Expert user of ArcGIS software in a professional environment
Expertise using and developing content in the portal environment, including dashboards and tools
Expertise working with stakeholders to identify opportunities to improve data insights, simplify workflows and processes, and introduce automation
Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of tools
Familiarity with Microsoft PowerBI
Qualifications

Bachelors or Masters degree in GIS, Geography or related fields. Certifications in GIS and work experience will be considered in lieu of higher degree.
Experience

5-7 years experience using GIS to support Renewable Energy development
A minimum of 5 years prior experience using ArcGIS software in a professional environment
3-5 years of prior programming experience using Python, JavaScript and HTML within an ESRI enterprise environment.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work with diverse stakeholders in a high paced environment
Must be detailed oriented and have strong data organization and analytical skills
Experience working with multiple spatial files formats including CAD, KMZs, Shapefiles, Raster datasets and Geodatabases
Experience with data exchange between CAD/GIS environments
Spatial Analysis Extension and Raster Processing Experience

We offer:

US team members are entitled to medical benefits, life insurance, dental benefits, vision benefits and short- and long-term disability benefits. Lightsource bp pays for the first $800 of the monthly insurance premium. For staff members with dependents, Lightsource will cover 50% of the costs of covering dependents. The team member contributes the remainder of the premium, if any, through pre-tax payroll deduction.
Lightsource bp offers US team members immediate eligibility for a 401(k) plan, with a 3% nonelective employer contribution.
Our team members are eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, calculated based on corporate, team and individual objectives. Team members in the US may receive an additional 50% of their annual bonus in a retention bank as well, available for withdrawal after three years of bonus awards have accrued.
Lightsource bp currently observes the following 11 holidays in the US: New Years Day, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, Presidents Day, Memorial Day, Juneteenth, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
US team members accrue 20 days of vacation and 15 days of sick leave annually. All team members are also eligible for COVID-19 leave.
Team members in the US enjoy a hybrid work environment.
US team members receive a monthly personal phone bill reimbursement of up to $100 and a monthly commuter benefit of up to $150. Team members also receive one-time wellness and remote work allowances
