Job Description:
Dewberry is currently seeking an Deputy Project Manager to join any one of our offices.

Come join Dewberrys multi-disciplinary team of resilience services professionals dedicated to reducing risk to flooding and hazards as an Assistant Project Manager. This position will primarily support our work with the Federal Emergency Management Agencys (FEMAs) Risk Mapping, Assessment, Mapping, and Planning (Risk MAP) program. There are additional opportunities to support an expanding portfolio of federal, state, and local resilience projects. The successful candidate will provide direct support to our project managers by lending their technical expertise to project teams, coordinating and scheduling resources, and monitoring scope and schedule.
This position is intended as a professional growth opportunity for the successful candidate. We are looking for candidates who have demonstrated their technical capability and wish to challenge themselves in developing project management skills. The position will expose the candidate to work and other professionals outside their traditional area of expertise. Assistant Project Managers will also hold adjunct membership in a resource team that most closely aligns with their professional expertise. This membership is intended to foster the professional development of junior staff members. The candidate will also be expected to identify and pursue, with the support of their manager, opportunities for formal project management training as a part of their professional growth.

Responsibilities:

Monitor project scope, schedule, and budget. Elevate deviations from plan to PM and identify options to course-correct.
Establish and maintain productive working relationships with project managers and technical staff. Identify discrete tasks and milestones for project execution.
Coordinate with resource team leaders to ensure project resourcing needs are met. Use tact and negotiation to deconflict competing priorities.
Directly support projects by contributing to production tasks, performing quality reviews, and other tasks as needed.
Organize and execute project meetings. Act as the project managers representative when required, including with clients.
Prepare project management documents (reporting, invoicing, memos, etc.) as directed.
Support business development and other initiatives as needed.

Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
At least 5 + years of experience in the candidates industry, with special emphasis on growth of technical skills (such as, but not limited to, water resources modeling, geospatial data analysis, software development, and development of planning projects).
Required certification P.E.

Preferred Skills & Experiences:

Graduate degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Planning, Computer Science, or a related field.
Evidence of participation in a professional society or attendance at conferences.
Experience leading discrete tasks (including scope, schedule, and budget) as part of a larger project.
Certification in the candidates area of specialty is highly preferred (GISP, CFM, AICP, etc.)

The projected range for this position is $82,000-$125,000 annually. Depending upon other factors, i.e., skills, experience, location, market conditions, the range may vary slightly.
