Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivated Archaeology Technician for employment in our Portland, OR office.

*This is a part-time position, meaning work days and times will be determined on an as-needed basis.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

+ Conduct all aspects of archaeological field work, including survey, site recordation, site testing and evaluations, monitoring, and data recovery.

+ Assist with mapping responsibilities in the field, including collection of GPS data using Trimble units.

+ Conduct technical research and writing for reporting efforts.

+ Analyze and document prehistoric and historic sites and artifacts.

+ Work independently under supervision of a project manager or senior-level team member.

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
+ HS graduate + 2 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

+ Current valid drivers license and U.S. government issued identification required

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Bachelors Degree in anthropology, archaeology, or a closely related field.

+ A minimum of one (1) years of experience with a wide range of field methodologies, including archaeological survey, testing, excavation, and monitoring required; experience in Pacific Northwest preferred.

+ Experience with Geospatial technology including GPS and GIS.

+ Due to nature of this role, U.S. Citizenship is required.

+ Offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range is $18.00 to $31.00 per hour.
