Arizona’s topography contrasts the Colorado Plateau in the north – where the Grand Canyon drops 6,000 ft – with the basin and range terrain of the south. Humphreys Peak near Flagstaff reaches 12,637 ft. The Sonoran Desert floor along the Colorado River sits at 70 ft above sea level.
