This area calculator is designed to help you measure land, calculate areas, and map out polygons directly on an interactive map. It’s an easy-to-use area measurement tool for mapping and calculating land dimensions, making it ideal for anyone needing to measure acreage, calculate land areas, or visualize surface measurements.

Key Features:

  • Measure Area on Maps: Easily map an area and calculate its size in your preferred units (square meters, acres, hectares, square miles, and more).
  • Acreage Calculator: With this acreage map tool, you can quickly calculate how much land you have in acres, making it perfect for property measurements.
  • Google Maps Area Calculator: This tool integrates mapping functionality similar to Google Maps, allowing you to measure land and calculate area with the accuracy of satellite-based mapping.
  • Measure Perimeter & Area: Whether you're working with small plots or vast tracts of land, you can calculate area and perimeter with ease using this web app.
  • Save Your Results: Export your measured areas as GeoJSON for further use in GIS tools or mapping platforms.
  • Print Map with Measurements: Use the built-in map print functionality to capture and print your polygons along with area and perimeter details.

Ideal for:

  • Farmers and landowners looking to measure acreage for property and land management.
  • Real estate professionals who need an accurate acreage calculator or land measurement tool to visualize property boundaries.

How to Use This Polygon Area Measurement Tool

This tool allows you to draw and edit polygons on a map to measure their areas and side lengths. Follow these steps to get started:

1. Selecting an Area Unit

  • Before drawing a polygon, select your preferred measurement unit from the dropdown menu at the top left corner of the map.
  • Available units include:
  • Square Meters (m²)
  • Square Kilometers (km²)
  • Hectares (ha)
  • Square Miles (mi²)
  • Acres

2. Drawing a Polygon

  • To draw a polygon, click the polygon icon in the map’s top left toolbar.
  • Click on the map to place the vertices of your polygon. Each click will add a point.
  • Complete the polygon by connecting the last point to the first, or double-click to automatically finish the shape.
  • After you finish drawing, the area of the polygon will automatically display in a popup, and the side lengths will be visible when you hover over each edge.

3. Editing a Polygon

  • To edit an existing polygon, click the edit icon (the pencil button) in the toolbar.
  • Click on the polygon you want to edit. You can move, add, or delete points to reshape the polygon.
  • When you finish editing, the area and side lengths will automatically update to reflect the changes.

4. Deleting a Polygon

  • To delete a polygon, click the delete icon (the trash button) in the toolbar.
  • Select the polygon you want to remove by clicking on it. The polygon and its side lengths will be removed from the map.

5. Saving Your Polygons

  • You can save your drawn polygons as a GeoJSON file by clicking the "Save as GeoJSON" button in the top left of the map.
  • This will download a file that contains the geographic coordinates of your polygons, which can be imported into other GIS tools.

6. Printing the Map

  • To print the map, including any polygons you’ve drawn, click the "Print Map" button in the toolbar at the top left of the map.
  • You can choose between landscape or portrait printing formats to suit your needs.
